Plus: meet my new company!

So much has changed since digital health took off a decade ago; it’s been an exciting and wild ride for everyone in this industry. In this week’s special episode, I talk to two of my favorite long-time colleagues in digital health: Chrissy Farr and Malay Gandhi about how digital health has shaped up, and what’s ahead. Podcast accessibility

Thank you to one of our Heart of Healthcare Grant Challenge semi-finalists, The Center for Deaf Equity, for pointing out the exclusion of deaf and hard of hearing people from podcast streaming services like Apple, Spotify, and Stitcher. Because transcripts or captions aren’t available on these platforms, more than 48 million Americans are unable to access podcast content.

That means it’s up to podcasters to provide transcripts for our listeners. Starting with Episode 54, the Heart of Healthcare team is now providing full transcripts of each episode on our website.

From biggest regret, to new company

I did lots of cool things in my 20s. But freezing my eggs was not one of them. And it’s one of my biggest regrets in life. It’s what motivated me to help start Cofertility, where I now serve as Co-Founder & Chair!

Unfortunately for most of us, the best time to freeze your eggs is when you can least afford it. At Cofertility we are making egg freezing more empowering, positive, and accessible — even *free* when women donate half of the eggs retrieved to a family who can’t conceive. Our model empowers donors to preserve their own fertility, while helping intended parents grow their families. It’s a win-win. There’s so much that we’re doing differently — check us out to learn more!

It’s my 🎂 birthday tomorrow and all I want from you is a nice review. If you could take 30 seconds to leave a review on Apple Podcasts, it would truly make my day!

In health,
Halle
